PQC Atlas privacy policy
Last updated: 15 October 2026
PQC Atlas is an Android application from Telewander ApS. It is an educational reference to the post-quantum cryptography standards published by NIST: FIPS 203 (ML-KEM), FIPS 204 (ML-DSA) and FIPS 205 (SLH-DSA). It does not encrypt data, ask for secret keys, or certify products. This policy covers com.telewander.pqcatlas, versionName 1.0.0.

Data on the device
The lessons, algorithms and questions are part of the app. Progress is stored on the phone, in the pqc_atlas.db database and in the pqc_atlas_settings preferences.
That local storage includes the lessons and algorithms you save, with the time you saved them; the lessons you mark complete, with the time; the answers, score and state of the knowledge check; whether you have already seen the introduction; and the last lesson you opened.
The app does not ask for your name, your email or an account. Saving progress on the phone is processing of personal data, even though Telewander ApS does not receive those files during ordinary use. This version has no Internet permission and does not send progress, answers or saved items to Telewander ApS servers.
Permissions
This version does not ask for the microphone, location, contacts, photos, broad storage access or the advertising identifier. The release manifest does not declare the Internet permission.
No Android permission is required to read the lessons, save an item or answer the knowledge check.
Links and the clipboard
Some entries link to public NIST pages. If you tap a link, the app asks the system to open it. The browser, or the app you choose, loads that address. The visit follows that site’s terms. The address is the NIST document’s address; the app does not add progress or answers.
If no app can open the link, the app copies that address to the clipboard. It does not copy progress or answers.
Android backup
Android automatic backup is on, and this version does not exclude the database or the preferences. If phone backup is on, Android can include that data in the backup of your Google account. Telewander ApS does not receive that copy and does not administer it. Restoring the phone can put the progress back into the app.
Accounts, ads and purchases
This version does not create an account, show ads, or include an analytics or Google Play Billing SDK. There are no in-app purchases.
Purposes
Progress, saved items and answers are used to continue the lessons, show what you saved and calculate the knowledge-check score. Links open the NIST source you choose. Email, if you send it, is used to reply. A visit to this page can create a technical hosting log.
Email and a visit to this page follow the website privacy notice. This policy does not add another legal basis.
Retention and deletion
Progress stays on the device until you delete it. “Reset progress” clears completed lessons, knowledge-check answers and scores, and forgets the last opened lesson. It does not remove saved items. Each saved item is removed on its own.
Clearing the app’s storage, or uninstalling it, removes the files of that installation. It does not remove a copy Android has already included in the Google account backup. That copy is managed in the phone’s or the account’s backup settings.
Telewander ApS does not receive the progress in this version, so it cannot delete it remotely and it does not set a retention period for that progress on its servers. It also does not set a number of days for email you choose to send. The website privacy notice does not set that period.
Providers
If you open a NIST link, the browser and the destination site are involved. If Android makes a backup, Google is involved for that copy of your account. If you send email, your email provider is involved. This policy page is hosted on AWS Amplify.
This version does not include an advertising or analytics SDK. Google, NIST and AWS Amplify may process data outside the European Union. This page does not describe an international-transfer mechanism.
Security
Progress is stored in the app’s private storage. The app does not add its own database encryption. The system limits other apps’ access to that storage. This is not a promise of absolute security, and the app does not promise quantum-resistant security.
Rights
Where the progress is only on the phone, access and deletion happen on the device. Telewander ApS cannot retrieve progress it has not received. A copy included in an Android backup is not on Telewander ApS’s systems.
For information Telewander ApS receives if you write to contact@telewander.com, or in the technical logs of this page, you can ask for access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection or portability. Where processing relies on your consent, you can withdraw it. You can also complain to Datatilsynet, the Danish Data Protection Agency. The website notice explains that practice and does not replace this policy.
Children
This version does not ask for an age, does not check who is using the phone, and does not create an account. It does not state an age limit.
This website
This page is the Telewander ApS website, not the app. Visiting it can create technical request data at AWS Amplify. The site does not use marketing cookies or analytics scripts. The text can be read without accepting optional cookies and without signing in.
The website privacy notice describes the site’s forms and requests. It does not describe PQC Atlas progress.
Changes
This policy is updated when the processing changes. The date at the top is the date of this text. It does not change on every visit or every site build. The current version does not send an automatic notice: the current text is the text on this page.
